LEXUS INTRODUCES GS 460

Lexus Australia has launched the new GS 460 luxury sports sedan in Australia.

The GS 460 will supersede the GS 430 sedan and features an all-new 4.6-litre V8 developing 255kW of power and 460Nm of torque.

Accelerating from zero to 100km/h in approximately 5.8 seconds, the GS 460 will be 0.3 seconds faster than the GS 430 it replaces.

The GS 460 sedan will also use Lexus’ unique eight-speed automatic transmission – delivering a wider spread of gears to enhance power delivery and fuel efficiency.

The GS 460 will deliver an improvement in fuel economy over the current GS 430, attaining 11.0 litres per 100km*.

The introduction of the GS 460 coincides with an upgrade of the entire GS Line, with revisions to the front and rear bumper bars, mirrors, wheels and door handles.

The exterior revisions give the vehicle a newer, sharper presence on the road and include new grille, lower air intakes and turn signals in side mirrors.

Inside, all GS models will receive a revised steering wheel, instrument panel, brushed aluminum shift plate and revised interior switch gear.

Lexus Australia chief executive John Roca said that the GS has been a pivotal vehicle for the Lexus brand.

“The GS range introduced the L-Finesse design philosophy to the world.

“It has been instrumental in cementing Lexus’ reputation for leading-edge design.

“The new GS 460 brings with it new visual appeal and performance befitting such a vehicle.

“The 4.6-litre engine is one of the most advanced Lexus petrol engines available. It delivers smooth performance, while bettering fuel efficiency figures of the model it supersedes,” Mr Roca said.
