HYBRID MODELS
Lexus Performance Hybrid - which debuted in GS 450h - introduced a new force in high performance. Lexus hybrid models have achieved a number of world firsts. The LS 600hL was the world's first V8 luxury hybrid AWD vehicle. It also incorporates a number of other technological firsts. The GS 450h was the world's first luxury performance hybrid sedan as well as being the world's first ever volume-production rear-wheel drive hybrid vehicle. The new RX 450h introduces the world’s only Atkinson, or high expansion, Cycle engine in a hybrid for improved efficiency.
With a powerful five-litre V8 engine delivering 290kW and 165kW electric drive motor, the LS 600hL is not only the ultimate hybrid, it's the ultimate Lexus.
With a 3.5 litre VVT-i V6 Atkinson Cycle engine, the petrol-electric hybrid uses just 6.4 litres (combined figure) of fuel per 100 kilometres* and emits just 150 grams of CO2 – a figure never before achieved in any SUV in Australia.
Take a 3.5 litre V6 with dual VVT-i, and dual injection, add a 147kW electric drive motor, and Lexus Hybrid Drive delivers acceleration that has to be experienced to be believed.
