SAFETY

When it comes to safety, compromise is not an option. The new-look RX 450h includes Lexus' advanced safety technology.

Stay in control with advanced safety systems

The new-look RX 450h includes Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM), a breakthrough system which can anticipate and help minimise instability and loss of traction in challenging situations. VDIM integrates the comprehensive package of safety technologies in the new-look RX 450h, which includes Electric Power Steering, Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control.

Rear view camera for greater visibility

Put the vehicle in reverse gear and the Rear View Camera1 is immediately activated. A clear image of the area behind the rear bumper appears on the LCD screen in the centre console, while parking reference lines indicate the vehicle's direction, based on steering input.

The reassurance of 10 airbags

The new-look RX 450h surrounds you with protection, including dual stage front SRS airbags, side airbags for the front and rear seats, knee airbags and side curtain-shield airbags. On the front passenger's side is a dual chamber airbag, which secures the passenger's upper body to help disperse the physical impact. Knee airbags prevent the driver and front passenger from slipping under the seatbelt, reducing the risk of lower limb injury.

Active Cruise Control keeps your distance

In addition to conventional cruise control, the new-look RX 450h F Sport and Sports Luxury models feature a vehicle-to-vehicle distance technology known as Active Cruise Control (ACC)2. After setting your preferred cruising speed, ACC will maintain this speed until the radar detects another vehicle in your path and will reduce speed accordingly. Your nominated speed will resume once a safe following distance can be maintained.
